Big Bend Ranch State Park

Big Bend Ranch State Park is by far the largest state park in Texas. It has more square miles than all the other Texas state parks together. The 23 miles of Route 170 along the Rio Grande River from Lajitas to Presidio is the southern boundary of the park. We made several stops, the main three were:

• Contrabando Movie Set where such movies as "Streets of Laredo", "Rio Diablo" and "Uphill All The Way"
• The Overlook views up and down the river
• Closed Canyon a slot canyon
