City of Rocks

On October 18, 2013 we camped out under the full moon at City of Rocks State Park in south west New Mexico. Our tent site was in the Pegasus section of the park. The volcanic rocks were formed 35 million years ago and then shaped by wind and rain to for an area that resembles a city. The areas between the rocks make for very private camp sites.

Below are some of our images from our brief stay at City of Rocks.
Our tent site was in this section of the park.

Glowing in the wind
Waking up to a cool morning under the full moon
Come on coffee - perk already!
That's what I'm talking about!
