Seattle
Arrival in Seattle was on August 21, 2018 (our 53rd anniversary). Our hotel was near Pioneer Square. The next morning we got an early start and took a walking tour of the area near our hotel. Of course a stop at the public market is a must for a visit to Seattle. Below are some images of selections at the market.
Upon leaving the public market, we walked down Post Alley, which is famous for it's gum wall. Interesting - YES! Appealing - NO! The close-up at right gives one an idea of the gum wall.
On our bucket list is attending a game in all 30 major league baseball cities. Safeco Field in Seattle was number 14.
For our anniversary dinner we opted for some shell fish. The Crab Pot had been recommended to us from the valet who parked our car at the hotel. He said that we should get reservations. He was right - we should have. Our wait was about an hour, but worth it. We ordered the "Alaskan" which consisted of king crab, dungeness crab, snow crab, shrimp, steamed clams, Pacific mussels, andouille sausage, corn on the cob and red potatoes. It all comes to you in a bucket, which is dumped on your paper covered table. Equipped with a mallet and a cutting board you jump right to it.
