Whale Watching
From Anacortes, we took the whale watching tour with Island Adventures aboard a modern, high speed catamaran.
In addition to the Orcas, seen above, there were plenty of sights during our 5 hour trip. Here are some of them:
Harbor seals at left. A Minke whale above disturbing sea gulls after a "bait ball". Minke whales have the curved dorsal fin. Below is a male Orca whale. Notice the extended dorsal fin. The lower left photo is the Burrows Island Lighthouse.
At left, a sea gull with a tasty snack. Above is the Point Wilson Lighthouse. Below are a couple more images of Orcas. The one on the right shows the mist coming out of the whale's blow hole.
