Fundy Coastal Route - Hopewell Rocks

Posted on August 4th, 2011

Day 2 of our Atlantic Provinces of Canada trip started early. We had added several stops along the Fundy Coastal route on the advice of the lady at the Aulac info station. Our first stop was at Hopewell Rocks. We arrived at 8:45am, just before low tide at 9:34am. The photo at left shows the rocks at low tide. At high tide the water level comes within a few feet of the top of the arch. While we were there, a crew from the Discovery Channel was filming. One of the crew members complained about the dull lighting conditions. As you can see our day was not exactly ideal for photography.

Below is a time lapse photo project that was done during last years' highest tide. The images were in 25 minute increments.
