North Rustico and the National Park of Prince Edward Island

Posted on August 23rd, 2011

The one brief window of blue skies duing our visit to PEI occured during our visit to the delightful fishing village of North Rustico. We talked to the captain of "Mosey's Boy", who was getting his boat ready for an afternoon of fishing for mackerel. He said that he goes out for lobster in May and June and mackerel starting in August through October. He said that the only boats going out for lobster this time of year are the tourist boats and he never got into that.

While in the area we saw another lighthouse, toured the fisherman's museum and visited the national park. At the national park we saw numerous red foxes and observed the iron rich soil along the northern coast.
