October 2011 Road Trip Day 13 San Francisco to Eureka (Point Reyes National Seashore)

Posted on October 16th, 2011

We left the hotel at 8:15. Our first stop was in Berkeley to have a reunion with a childhood friend from Ohio, 50 years after our graduation from high school. It had been 28 years since we had seen each other.

He gave me a California Buckeye from the tree in his yard. Thanks Hal!
We made one additional stop in what turned out to be a long day of driving. The stop was at Point Reyes National Seashore. It is located on a peninsula in Marin County. As a National Seashore it is a nature preserve that allows commercial uses (ranching and oyster farming).

It has wild coastal beaches and a picturesque lighthouse.

Here are some of our photos:

Neat photos on Day 13 of your trip. Of course, the Lighthouse is my favorite photo. Also like your photos of Bambi's mom and the California "Happy Cows"! Now enjoy today's adventure up the coast.
